A Peer is someone who holds a Patent of Arms. There are two kinds of peers; Peers of the Realm and Royal Peers. Both groups are referred to as Peerages.
Peers of the Realm
These include:
- Order of the Chivalry
- Order of the Laurel
- Order of the Pelican
- Order of Defense
- Companions of the Rose (if the Rose was accompanied by a Patent)
These are sometimes referred to as "bestowed" peerages. These are defined in Corpora and are the highest awards available in the Society. As such, they are essentially the same in all Kingdoms and are recognized across the Known World.
Royal Peer
These include:
- The Royal Family:
- King/Queen
- Crown Prince/Crown Princess
- Prince/Princess (of a Crown Principality)
- Heir/Heiress (to the coronet of a Crown Principality)
- Duke/Duchess
- Count/Countess
- Viscount/Viscountess
