Established: Originally 2006 in the Princepality of Oertha in the Kingdom of the West
History: In May of 2006, The Company of the Wylde Hunt was formed for the purpose of giving Veterans in the SCA a place to use their skills that they normally are unable to use in the real world or within Society. A place to feel the Commraderie they missed so much from leaving Military Service, and mundanely giving Veterans a place to feel at home after departing Military Service. Each member of the Company has either served in the military or supported a family member who served in the military. And so it began with seven Combat Veterans. The Red Border of the Company Device represents the blood shed and sacrifices made by the Veterans and active Service members who gave of themselves. The Candles represent those who've been lost and are no longer with us. The Wolf head represents the way we fight as a Pack, a Team, a Unit, and Family. The Bowen Knot represents the Service that has tied us all together as a Fighting Unit and as Family.
